03/04/19:
I analyzed what the survey showed me. I have written down the school and community profiles and their effects on the concept of magazine. With all these being done, I completed my initial concept.

Key findings from the survey: 5 people enjoy american comic and another 1 person enjoy Japanese comic. The only thing this might bother me is people who enjoy american comic might not be familiar with black and white comic which is something I might investigate on for my next step.

My initial ideas: Use comic to shows school habits or upcoming event and exaggerate things to make it funny.

I've done another form for my focus group and had sent it out.

Also I've researched on some commonly-used elements in comics. Based on their functions and my objective. I plan to use the following 7 elements:
1. School
2. Livelihood
3.Emotion (Friendship, love relationship etc.)
4. Romantic (Counts as emotion but because it is so commonly used in comedy, I separated it into an individual section. )
5.Good looking girls/boys
6.Fighting
7.Superpower

After the holiday I've decided to check what I've done in last term. I've received some feedback from the focus group survey and used them to improve my design and I've also made a survey for another focus group because I want research on those who don't normally read comics or those who don't usually watch anime. Then I went back to my previous research and sought for some information that could help to improve my initial ideas. After all that, I went fixing some of the conventions I have found last time.

Changes I've made:
-From the first focus group, half of the responses are not okay with black and white comics. So I plan to make a full color one and a black and white one.
-Focus group 2

-From the previous research, I relied since there are people from different country, I should make sure that I respect their culture and make sure I have them as my characters.

Also I plan to draw characters with European features and make them more realistic in order to make it more American style. 

-Finally, I reduced the convention into:

-cute girl

-Emotion

-School

-Each character having strong personalities that are really distinguishable

-Having one philosophy through out the story. (In my case, one habit through out one story.)

So I've finalized my concept. Since I only have limited skill and time, I've decided not to intend drawing characters resemble real person. It's just going to take too much time and it might not even seem good.

Also, I've started my character design. For my first comic, I want to add our PE teacher "Tome" in (Thanks for the suggestion from Ethan Wang.)

 

Term 3 22/09/17 Reflection Academic Goal

    Maths:So far I had catch up some formula about the surface area, volume of different shape and understand it. For example:The surface area of circle, circumference, Surface area of cone e.t.c  And also I had join a maths tutor in my free time.

    Computer Science: I learned a bit in my free time from website and started to read a few book about programming language.

    English:In ESOL 17 we had been focus on writing and grammar which is the weakness of mine that shown on the report. Also in ESOL 1 we had been learning new vocabulary.

Reflection of real game

  Recently we had been doing something called real game which is basically let you plan and choose your future career.
  The job I had choose is Computer technician supporter(I am quit interesting in computer.) My total annual income is around 40,000 dollars and gross monthly income is 3,333 dollars. After taking away the tax and students loan the net income is around 2,466 dollars a month. Sound quit good and if I got promote I would probably have more.

  I had quickly calculate my monthly expense and in total it cost :
  -Accommodation:cost none because I have my own house. But the electricity, gas and all other stuff's tax are around 750 dollars(The worksheet said that it won't be less than 130 per bedroom so I assumed that it would cost me 150 dollar per bedroom and I count the living room and computer room as well.)
  -Transport:Cost me 300 dollars for maintenance and 150 for car fuel. In total is 450 dollars.
  -Groceries: around 340 dollars.
  -Clothing:I don't spend much money on those thing and I won't so I would say 20 dollars per month.
  -Miscellaneous:Around 80 dollars per month.
  -Leisure:I won't go for a trip often only go back to my country in Christmas. And the air plane tickets cost around 1000 maybe? And divide by 12 is around 90 per month.

  Total expense:2,466-1710=736 dollars left.

  Overall I think I will be fine with the money that I earned. at least I can survive. And I think I can live comfortably.
 

Academic goals

  8/9/17 Academic Goals Updating

   Maths: Catch up the things I learned before from Maths. I have forgot some stuff already and so I think it would be good to catch up the things I learned before. Currently I am aiming for 6D.

    -Learn new vocabulary in Maths such as the name of different shapes.

     English: English has always been a problem for me. I guess just keep learningvocabulary and grammatical stuff. 

    Computer study: I think I am interesting in computer study. I guess if there are any module/spin or floor times that's related to that subject I can try to get in it and work on it.

    My report:From the report from last term, My maths was at 5A which seems really good.  But I forgot a lot of skills that I learned before. And when I was doing the task I have to research stuff frequently. So I think it will be a good idea for me to catch up.

My hub inquiry:How to be more receptive

  My short term goals:My short term goals is to follow the tips that articles said about. And which is basically use open body languages to support my-self to accept other people's feedback and suggestion..
  And well I think I didn't really did it on purpose but I think I did those tips in accident...Also there were not many people give me feedback so I didn't try those things a lot of times.
  I think it is no really success because I didn't try or experience those things a lot and didn't actually tried those tips on purpose....(Even though I still did tried those tips.But not on purpose. At least I didn't oppose the tips hahahaha.....)
  I guess I need to reminder my-self of my inquiry and so I can remember it and do it on purpose. Practice the tips on purpose and practice more times. I think I could  ask for feedback sometimes.

 My medium term goals action is to ask for feedback for the things that I had done sometimes and accept those suggestion to improve my-self. And what I will be doing is to ask people to get feedback for my medium term goal action.(So just to clearfield what I meant is that,on the google classroom post ask that what will I be doing for my medium term goals. And I think what I will do is to ask peers for some feedback or some suggestion for my medium term goals action. My medium term goals action is also to ask people for feedback so I can practice the skills more so it is quite confusing. )

T2 10/5/17 Term 1 report analyzing

  To make sense of our progress in Term 1 by analyzing our report.

  Question 1:Where are my strength on my report? Where have I done well and where have I exceeded my expectation?:

  Um...Honestly I think all of those are exceeded my expectation. I don't really think that I could have  enough score that can go over the green box(Which is the expectation of the score that every students in that years of age need to have by the end of the years...I am not good at explaning stuff.)and I guess "Dolla" surprise me the most. Because it is a social classes and I don't feel like that I am really a socialist so I got quit surprise :D 

  Question 2:What are my weakness on the report. Where have I not engaged or struggle in the class?

  Um...my weakness on report is Dolla and which is to explore by understand the view point and value. But from what I remember I think I struggle at Walle the most. At first I did contribute the group to make the robot. But after that since we are starting to program then the other girl was basically doing everything so I got really board then just sitting beside them and look at them to do the work. Then we separate. At the other group I don't really have anything to do as well so I was basically searching something else about the Walle which is um...Not really what I meant to do  in that class XD

  Question 3: What is it about classes that I had done well and enjoy in or engage with

  I think it is Exchange which is the maths class that I had. First of all I like Maths(Some how...) And secondly I did job in there instead of doing nothing..... But I think that interesting in the subject took a big part of why I like that class :D

  Question 4:What barrier that preventing from success in the class that I am not doing so well in?

  I would really say that the biggest barrier is there is not much people that I knew were in Walle.... I like Technology but I don't know most of the people in there so I cannot work that confident... It is sort of my bad tho

  Question 5:What are my next step

  First follow my hub inquiry which is be more contributive in the group.

  Then I am going to work on be more confident. 

  (Go in to the class that my friends were in XD)

  Question 6:How does this link to my inquiry

  Well my inquiry is to be more contrbutive and most of my class have team work in there. It is not that I don't know how to teamwork but it is actually that some time I don't know what we are doing or for some reason not contributing much. 

5/5/17 T2 Hub inquiry action planing.

    My hub inquiry:How to be more contributive team work and how to be more receptive to other's feedback.
    Short term goals:
  My hub inquiry is to be more contributive for the team and to be more receptive to other's feedback. And my short term goals for being more contributive is to listen to the work we need to do carefully so I can understand what we are doing. Then if I still don't understand what we need to work on I guess I gotta ask my teammate.
 
  And my short term goals for being receptive is to follow the tips that the website is saying which are:stay eye contact and maintain open body language. Start with something small, easy like those open body language or something similar first  I guess would be a good short term goal.



    Medium term goals:
  My medium term goals for my inquiry(Being contributive to team) is to ask for the things that I don't understand. And make sure what we need to work on first. So that I don't waste time on working on useless stuff. (PS:Also do different work with teammate as well. Because if two people are working on the same thing then both of them are not doing their best I guess unless the work they need to do is really complicated or whatever that need more people to work on.) basically in conclusion is that I need to work on the things that we need to work on. Not wasting time to work on useless things.

  My medium term goals for receptive is to ask feedback for the things I do and maybe write reflection of it. So I can improve my self also I can know what I did well what I didn't.

    Long term goals(What I wanna see by the end of the term):
  Contributive:I am not expecting that I can be like the main person of a team but at least I need to do something for the team or partake the work.

  Receptive:I hope that I can listen to peoples feedback. If I think it is wrong then at least finish listening. If that is useful then I wanna working on the things that the feedback says about me to improve my self. :D
